Need some roll cages fast?

Need some roll cages fast?

We know that getting your products onto the shelf as fast as possible is important and that demands a reliable distribution network and sufficient equipment.

The cost of losing your roll cages can really damage not only your balance sheet but also customer expectations.

Uncertainties ahead for the retail sector

In a retail sector that’s been affected by online shopping and the prospect of a no-deal Brexit you can’t afford to lose the customers that come to your stores and then can’t find the products they need.

That’s why we offer the solution of a roll cage rental service backed up with our nationwide UK roll cage recovery service from ACQSYS.

What would a no-deal Brexit mean for retailing?

With the prospect of a no-deal Brexit looming large and the potential for goods to be stuck in transit it’s important to plan ahead and ensure that you have enough roll cages to transport your retail goods.

The Economist wrote about the dangers to retailers of a no-deal Brexit in February 2019. They highlighted the issues with the lack of UK warehouse space to do any stockpiling, as advised in the government papers to retailers. You can read more here.

What are UK retailers doing to plan for a no-deal Brexit?

We’ve been researching what UK retailers are doing to plan for a no-deal Brexit situation and you can read more about their plans from Drapers online here.

The Guardian also reported in February 2019 that retailers were applying for Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status to simplify customs procedures but there are delays of up to 12 months to obtain approval from HMRC.

Retail Week has also reported on six major risks that retailers must address when planning for a no-deal Brexit and you can read about them here and it also lists applying for the AEO certificate as one option.

With the potential date of a no-deal Brexit so close to the traditional Christmas rush in demand for retail products, there are concerns mounting for retailers.

The need to plan ahead

It’s no secret that ordering new cages takes ten weeks for delivery from the Far East. We’ve anticipated the demand that might occur for extra roll cages to deal with situations such as a no-deal Brexit.

National retailer

We responded to a short-term equipment crisis in December 2016, which became a longer-term arrangement that has reduced their capital expenditure on cage purchases.

At the same time, cage availability has improved through the activity of our free and unique roll cage recovery service.

Testimonial

“The use of the roll cages at our Christmas toy appeal in Cheshire made the whole operation so much simpler. We had 3,000 toy sacks to make up for local under privileged children, which involved 24,000 toys! We are so grateful to Roll Cage Rental for their support during our 'Give a child a Christmas' operation, which is a not for profit community organisation, run by volunteers. ”

Dee Drake
The Toy Appeal

“Can’t fault the team at Roll Cage Rental. Our last-minute request was dealt with very efficiently, delivering high quality cages the very next day. I would definitely use them again.”

Jo-Ann Iveson

“Crisis at Christmas simply would not be possible without the generosity of our donors, volunteers and partners. We would like to thank Roll Cage Rental for their support which helps us provide a lifeline for homeless people this Christmas, as well as the chance to take their first steps out of homelessness.”

Ian Richards
Crisis at Christmas

“RCR supplied a number of roll cages to us on Paddington 2. They were very flexible, economic and kept us informed as we had extremely tight deadlines. Everything was very smooth even though we had to customise the cages for our specific use within a couple of days. Everything was collected and delivered on time which is very important to us.”

Tim Wellspring
Marmalade Films Limited

“There were two important reasons why we moved away from buying roll cages to working with Roll Cage Rental. • Roll Cage Rental’s free recovery of lost cages maintains our cage fleet at a much higher level than buying cages or renting them through the usual rental companies, • The improved asset management allows us to focus our efforts and spend our capital on growing our business. It is very different to the standard rental offering and it’s working for us. ”

Ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky?

"Well do ya punk?" The question asked by Harry Callaghan (Dirty Harry) of his soon to be incarcerated perpetrator. While we’re staring down the barrel of our own .44 calibre Brexit magnum, perhaps we should ask ourselves the same question.
